In the magazine July 2016
With MØ, The Maccabees, Christine and The Queens, Weaves, and tons more.
July is here, which means two things - Latitude Festival is just around the corner, and it’s time for a brand new issue. This month, we’re welcoming MØ to the cover of DIY, as she leads the charge of our massive, 20-page Latitude preview.
From Denmark’s punk underground to record-breaking, stratosphere-busting pop hits, Karen Marie Aagaard Ørsted Andersen takes us through the crazy, post-‘Lean On’ world of MØ as she gears up for her sure-to-be-bloody-massive second album. Oh, and we also chat to both MØ and Diplo about DIY’s hand in the creation of ‘Lean On’. It wouldn’t have happened without us. Possibly.
Elsewhere, we pick out the best of the Latitude line-up from headliners like The Maccabees and The National, through to exciting newcomers like Danny L Harle and Weaves. It’s gearing up to be one of the biggest weekends of the summer once more, and we’ve got the essential lowdown.
We also talk to Bat For Lashes, Partybaby, Twin Atlantic, and Two Door Cinema Club. The mag also features Neu natters with Exciting Young Things Blaenavon, Abattoir Blues and GoldLink, and as ever there’s the full rundown of all the month’s new releases and best live shows.
That’s just the beginning, too. Basically, it’s absolutely jam-packed. It’s a wonder the thing’s not falling apart at the spine, really.
